Nominee for Vice President: Susan Roll
Susan
Roll is currently Associate Professor in Liturgy and Sacramental
Theology at Saint Paul University, Ottawa, Canada, and also serves as Director
of the Centre for Women and Christian Traditions at Saint Paul.
She holds a Ph.D. from the Catholic University of Louvain, Leuven, Belgium. She taught for eight years at Christ the King Seminary in Buffalo NY and at Saint Michael's College in Colchester VT, held the Walter J. Schmitz Chair in Liturgical Studies at the Catholic University of America in 1998, and was a Visiting Fellow of Sarum College (Salisbury, England) in 2000.
Her publications include Toward the Origins of Christmas (1995), and two edited books, Revisioning Our Sources: Women's Spirituality in European Perspectives (1997) and Women, Liturgy and Ritual (2001) plus numerous articles primarily on the liturgical year, sacramental theology, and the feminist liturgical movement.
Susan has attended every Academy meeting since 1996 and became a member in 1997. She has participated since 1996 in the Feminist Studies in Liturgy seminar (formerly Teaching Feminist Liturgy.
